EMS Engineering are experts in Rail. Their leadership team were passionate about embedding technology to accelerate and transform the way they delivered large scale nationwide rail projects. They approached us to help scope and subsequently implement the technology roadmap.
We initially collaborated with the EMS leadership team to understand the business requirements and process mapped the operational journey from beginning to end, identifying key bottlenecks and significant areas of improvement. We developed 3 applications to address the business needs; a web portal, a mobile app and an inventory tracking system.We worked in agile development sprints across a scope of 12 key feature sets to deliver the final integrated solution. Over the air updates allowed us to deploy new features without having to redistribute the applications, keeping progress on track and on budget
There were several complex elements in scope across all 3 solutions.
We developed technology which could write / read contactless NFC tags to improve efficiency and quality of tagging shipments by 25%.
It was important that clients and team leaders could view and sign quality control documents – so we developed our own framework for digitally signing PDF’s and exporting securely to a cloud filesystem.
The mobile app was designed from the ground up to work offline, supporting engineers who often work in areas with poor connectivity
Supporting all the platforms was our custom built back-end system, which allowed management to have 100% oversight of projects, staff, assets and SLA’s with real-time reporting just a click away.
